What Are the Major Components of a Data Center?

The major components of any Data Center can be categorized as follows-

  • Facility- It refers to the space that is available for setting up all the IT equipment. Offering full-time access to critical data is what makes data centers the most energy-consuming facilities.
  • Core Components- It includes all the equipment and software required for IT operations & storage of data and applications. Further, it may consist of- storage devices, servers, network infrastructure, along information security elements.
  • Support Infrastructure- It comprises all the equipment that contributes to offering the highest available sustainability in terms of uptime.
  • Operational Staff- It is the workforce required to monitor operations and maintain IT and infrastructure equipment at all times.
