Can we also maintain inventory of IP addresses?eMagic has IP management module. It manages aspects of Ips like VLAN id, subnet category. It shows all free, occupied and conflicting Ips. The unique feature of eMagic is to check whether IP is blacklisted with standard RBLs.
Can Network Topology be automatically created or needs to be done manually?In current version eMagic does not support auto discovery for network devices topology. However user can create network topology diagram with discovered network devices and servers. Once network topology is created, device status and links status can be monitored.
Can we have server console access like ILO/IPMI via eMagic?eMAgic does not provide direct IPMI/iLo management console. However eMagic manages server operations like Power On-off, hard reboots with the help of IPMI protocol.
What all monitoring protocols are supported besides SNMP?Besides SNMP eMagic monitors devices using SSH, WMI, Socket and Serial port.
How is the licensing for eMagic?eMagic product has two editions. One is eMagic standard Data Center Management Suite and other is eMagic Enterprise Data Center Management Suite. Licensing is perpetual for both editions. There are few add-on modules for both editions which require extra licensing. With perpetual licensing, client can manage any number of devices with eMagic.
Are there any limitations on using number of devices or type of devices?Since eMagic license is perpetual licensing there is no restriction on number of devices. Any number of devices can be managed by eMagic. We recommend using distributed monitoring module for large number of device interfaces (more than 1500 interfaces.)
What services can be monitored by eMagic?Any standard service like HTTP, Mail, FTP, Database or customized services can be monitored using port monitoring through eMAgic. Notifications are sent to defined email Id, SMS number or IRC channels.
Are API available for integration with other software like billing, helpdesk software, UPS, PAC monitoring software, etc?Yes, APIs are available to integrate eMagic with third party applications like billing, and other monitoring software.
Does eMagic support change management for device configuration?eMagic has module of change management system. It supports change management for servers, network, inventory or any kind of deployed device. eMagic CMS complies to ITIL standard.
Can we manage Virtualmachines of heterogeneous hypervisors?eMagic can manage multiple hypervisors like Vmware, HyperV, eNlight. User can provision virtual machines through eMagic. All operations like Create, Recycle, Power Off, Power ON, Suspend can be performed via eMagic on any time of Virtual Machine.
