In a normal configuration, there are two situations in which traffic passes through WAF

• If the desired content is present in the cache, the traffic will not pass through the WAF. Enlight CDN will directly fetch the requested content
• If the desired content is not present in the cache, then the traffic passes through the WAF and finally reach the origin server
