About

The Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) established in 1948, is a multi-disciplinary government organization under the Department of Mines, Ministry of Mines, engaged in the promotion of conservation, scientific development of mineral resources and protection of the environment in mines other than coal, petroleum & natural gas, atomic minerals and minor minerals. IBM has its Head Quarter at Nagpur, where 5 divisions are there. The Mineral Development and Regulation Division (MDRD) has 4 zonal offices and 13 regional offices. The Ore Dressing Division has Modern Mineral Processing Lab (MMPL) at Nagpur along with 2 regional Ore Dressing Labs at Ajmer & Bengaluru. The other divisions are Mineral Economics, Mines & Mineral Statistics (MMS) and Planning & Coordination

The Challenge

IBM was looking for a CSP for offering reliable, pay-per-consume cloud service and flexible scalability. It was looking for a host their critical applications on Cloud, as managing & updating was a challenge for the Internal team & the vendor.
