If ESDS goes down during a disaster, who recovers our systems?

ESDS infrastructure does not go down. We operate across four geographically separated, Tier III certified data centres with N+N redundant power, cooling and connectivity. A single-site failure does not touch your DR. A multi-site simultaneous failure has never occurred in twenty years of operations. But if the question is contractual: defined remedies, not service credits. Ask for the SLA before you sign.

What RPO and RTO am I actually contractually guaranteed, not just promised?

Hot Standby: near-zero RPO, under 15 minutes RTO. Warm Standby: 15 minute RPO, 1 to 4 hour RTO. Cold Backup: 24 hour RPO, 4 to 24 hour RTO. These are contractual commitments with defined financial remedies if breached. Not design targets. Not marketing language. Ask for the SLA schedule before you sign.

How does DR cost 30% of primary if it has to perform at 100% during failover?

Because of a patent no other cloud provider in the world holds. ESDS patented vertical auto-scaling in 2011. Granted in India, USA and UK. Your DR virtual machines run in miniature mode consuming minimal CPU, RAM and bandwidth until the moment failover triggers. On activation they scale up inside the existing VM instance without rebooting. Full performance. Instant. Are your DR drills real failovers or walk-throughs on paper?

Real failovers. Live execution. Your application actually fails over to the DR site. We validate application performance, measure actual RPO and RTO achieved and produce an audit-ready report after every drill. Quarterly as standard. Monthly for BFSI and Government clients. If the drill exposes a gap, we close it before the next one. A drill that reveals nothing is not a drill. It is a document.

What happens if ESDS breaches the SLA during an actual disaster event?

Defined financial remedies. Not service credits that offset future billing. Not an apology email. Real accountability with real numbers in the contract. We have designed the architecture across twenty years to make a breach structurally impossible. But the contract does not ask you to trust that. Ask for the SLA terms and remedies before you sign.

If we are already on ESDS infrastructure, do we need a separate DR engagement?

Warm Standby DR is included with Enterprise Community Cloud and BFSI Community Cloud deployments at no additional cost. If you are on either, your DR posture is worth reviewing before assuming a gap exists. Talk to us before you assume.

Can our DR site run on different hardware than our primary environment?

Yes. ESDS manages the OS and database compatibility layer so your application runs on the DR platform without modification. Primary on HP-UX, DR on x86 Linux. Primary on AIX, DR on ESDS cloud. Confirm your specific platform combination with our architects before signing. We will tell you honestly what is available.
