About Nav Jeevan Bank

The Nav Jeevan Co-op Bank Ltd – Ulhasnagar was established in the year, founded by current chairman Shri Sitaldas K Harchandani (Ex-MLA), the bank has grown into a very popular co-operative in Ulhasnagar with eight branches. From a small bank with a business of Rs 100 cr in 2000-01 it has grown to a large cooperative with a turnover of Rs 850 cr. With a head office in Ulhasnagar, its branches are spread across various cities.

Challenge

Nav Jeevan Bank previously had its own on-premise Data Center (DC) wherein they were using software by InfrasoftTech. The bank decided to make a move towards technological updation and innovation. They wanted to implement advanced banking technologies like ATM channels, mobile banking, NFS network and several others. For this they needed a strong IT infrastructure which meant changing and transforming their existing IT infra in the DC.

Solution

ESDS provided hosting services, on its double patented eNlight cloud, at its data center in Navi Mumbai as well as database management services. ESDS also acted as the bank's partner in its Business Continuity Planning and provided Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) with a DR site at ESDS' Nashik DC. This plan was perfect since it appropriately followed the parameters set by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) according to which DC to DR distance should be more than 140 to 160 kms. ESDS also was Nav Jeevan Bank's preferred choice because of all its compliances to RBI's stated security points for a DC. The bank has 15 servers hosted with us. Since 2016 they have been using our DC for all their transactions. Because of our competent DC to DR connectivity, they have saved on the connectivity expenditure. Data duplication has also become real time because our two DCs have 10 Gbps pipeline thus data replication on DR site happens immediately. We have also provided them with Facility Management Services and other managed services like enterprise storage, firewall and connectivity within all the bank branches to the DC, hub connectivity, DC-DR connectivity and we monitor all this through our enterprise management software eMagic.
