About

Established in October 1938, Kolhapur District Co-operative Bank (KDCCB) today employ over 12292 members. The bank is the apex body of all the co-operative societies in the district and operates in a three-tier credit structure as a link between rural service organizations and NABARD. They provide services through 191 branches in the district including the central office. The major objectives of the bank are to develop and expand banking facilities in rural and urban areas of the district & help develop a co-operative movement in the district.

KDCCB also has their independent training center at the central office of the bank and training is conducted for the members and officers / employees of the bank on the changes taking place in the banking sector and better customer service.

The Challenge

KDCCB were running their Core Banking Solution (CBS) with a well-known information technology company but were facing various issues with CBS as well as with data center services. KDCCB needed a secure & reliable CBS & an Uptime Certified Tier III data center service provider that will address their issues in terms of connectivity, payment channel solution, security & network monitoring services that are RBI mandated.

The Solution

ESDS provided KDCCB with Managed Colocation services, wherein procurement of hardware was done by ESDS as recommended by the implementation partner KPMG. The bank’s existing data was migrated in physical drives and after the infrastructure was set up, ESDS technical experts conducted thorough testing of the infrastructure and the services. A Private Cloud setup was created with the bank’s primary services running from ESDS’s Mumbai data center and ESDS’s Bangalore data center was the DR site, both being in different seismic zones for appropriate safety.
