Data Analyst

Brief Background

The Data Analyst is expected to transform raw data into meaningful insights that support data-driven decision-making. This role involves gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to identify patterns, highlight opportunities, and optimize business strategies and operations.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Data Collection & Integration: Gather and consolidate data from diverse sources including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Data Cleaning & Validation: Ensure data integrity by performing thorough cleaning, validation, and quality checks to maintain accuracy and consistency across datasets.
• Data Analysis & Interpretation: Conduct exploratory and statistical analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations that drive business value.
• Data Visualization: Design and develop interactive dashboards, charts, and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent to support data storytelling.
• Insight Generation: Translate analytical findings into meaningful insights and clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, finance, and operations teams to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and support decision-making through data.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of data processes, documentation, and best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Proficiency in SQL, and data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Experience with programming languages like Python or R.
• Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, interpret data, and solve problems.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS).
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

3 + years of experience in data analytics or a related role.
