India’s plan for Smart Cities<\/strong><\/a> Mission includes components such as- City Improvement (Retrofitting), City Renewal (Redevelopment) and City Extensions (Greenfield Development) along with a pan-city initiative where the Smart Solutions are going to be applied for covering more extensive parts of the city.<\/p>\n

\u2022Retrofitting<\/strong> will be introducing planning done in an existing built-up area for achieving the smart city objectives, in line with other purposes for making the existing areas more efficient and more liveable.
\n\u2022Redevelopment<\/strong> creates an effect of the replacement of the current built-up environment. This will be enabling the co-creation of a new layout having an enhanced infrastructure by using mixed land use and increased density.
\n\u2022The City Extensions or Greenfield development<\/strong> will introduce Smart Solutions in a previously vacant area, by the use of innovative planning, plan financing, and other plan implementation tools, with a provision of affordable housing for the poor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
