  • IPv6 allocation.

    The IANA has 2000::/3 Global IPv6 unicast.
    Each registry gets /23 prefixes from the IANA.
    Registry allocates a /32 prefix to an IPv6 ISP.
    Policy is that an ISP allocates a /48 prefix to each end customer.

    For eg. If TechM wants IP addresses. The hierarchy will be:
    IANA will provide APNIC 2700:EA00:/23.
    APNIC will provide 2700:EA52::/32 to TCL.
    TCL provide 2700:EA52:1280::/48 to TechM.
    Then TechM will create its own LANs with
    2700:EA52:1280:0::/64 to 2700:EA52:1280:FFFF/64.
    Still it can have 65535 networks.
