Sr. Business Analyst

This role entails Business Analysis for a major judicial software project. It requires methodical investigation, analysis, review and documentation in terms of business functions and processes in order to document the requirements to be delivered to client. The BA will manage the requirements development process through the elicitation, analysis, specification and verification of multiple levels of requirements (business, stakeholder, solution) and support the ongoing management of the requirements through design, development, test and implementation. The Business analyst will be required to create viable and consumable specifications including acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction and testing of the software solution.

Job Description:
  1. Developing requirements (business, user and software requirements — functional and non-functional) and establishing traceability to the business vision
  2. Managing the requirements through the project lifecycle by establishing and maintaining agreements between the customer and the project team
  3. Adept Agile practitioner, hands on experience of working in Agile-Scrum teams
  4. Proven track record in stakeholder management and possess excellent communication skills
  5. Experience in workshop facilitation to gather requirements and design solutions
  6. Conduct focus group discussion with the customers to discuss the key issues and analyse the VOC Voice of the Customer
  7. Experience in selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Documentation Study and Surveys and overall Process Re-engineering
  8. Must engage in As-Is process mapping and documentation and should be able to facilitate process optimization and standardization workshops with different stakeholders
  9. Proficient requirement meeting facilitator, demonstrated experience in facilitating sessions (20+ people) using techniques to help define scope and requirements during the lifecycle
  10. Writing and reviewing business, user and non-functional/system level requirements in the form of User stories, Use Cases, UML, requirement statements and other similar structured requirements documentation
  11. Responsible for ensuring change control and change management procedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements
  12. Experience in JIRA, Clarizen, ARIS, BPM, etc tools
Desired Skills & Experience:
  1. Business analysis role with personal accountability for delivering and managing requirements to time and cost for projects typically up to $5m in value and 12 to 18 months in duration
  2. Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing business, user and non-functional/system level requirements
  3. Demonstrated experience on open source and/or COTS projects
  4. Adept at getting sign off of business (functional and non-functional) requirements from user community
  5. Experience of relationships with senior customer staff
  6. Solid understanding of the following requirements models: Stakeholder Categories, Actor Tables, Glossary, Context Diagram, Data Model, Class Model, Data Dictionary, Event Response Tables, State Diagrams, Business Rules, Decision Tables, Process Maps, Use Cases, and Activity Diagram
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
 
Supervision Responsibilities:
  1. Senior business analyst is expected to act independently to deliver and manage requirements to schedule, budget and scope; support provided as required and requested, and is self-driven and motivated
  2. Senior business analyst leads own functional areas coordinating teams consisting of cross functional, global, and virtual groups;
  3. Senior business analyst coaches, mentors and supports less experienced business analysts
 
Other Requirements:
  1. National and international travel may be required occasionally
  2. Travel required to African/UAE country for Business Analysis
  3. Flexibility to work across timezones for EMEA
